First Time On Duromine ; 2019 - 30MG

    Hi All,

    So today 19/2/2019 is my first day taking Duromine. I’ve always heard negative things about it so I’ve always been hesitant. Until I stood on the scales the other day and nearly fell off .

    So I’m starting on 30mgs. I took it at about 6am this morning and I haven’t had any side effects so far... a little bit of a dry mouth but nothing to bad.
    Has anyone else taken it and had no side effects at all?

    My goal weight is 75-80kgs, currently weighing in at 114kgs.

    I will post daily updates if not every second day on my progress and hoping to go through this journey with anyone else ❣️

    Hi Danielle,

    I have found it actually surprisingly amazing. I’m Day 4 in, and I haven’t had any side effects... I’ve read a lot of forums that say that the side effects come on day 3-4 but I haven’t had any. Well I’ve only had restless sleeps that’s about all.

    My hunger cravings are completely gone. I don’t feel hungry at all during the day / evening. I only eat a very healthy light lunch (tuna and 2 cruskits) and a small dinner or something healthy... I’m only eating because I know I have to keep eating but I’m genuinely not hungry.

    I sometimes feel a little nauseous because my stomach feels empty but I’m not hungry.

    I’ve lost 3cm off my stomach already according to my measurements... haven’t weighed myself I’ll do that on Tuesday!

    I also am basically fasting from 6:30pm-1pm the next day I’m only drinking water

    How are you finding it? Any side effects?

    Thats fantastic bianca well done.

    So far so good. Im one day ahead of u, for the first few days had trouble falling into a deep sleep but wasnt tried the next day. A bit of a dry mouth but thats just helping me drink water.

    I weight myself last night so far 2kgs down. I took my measurements Sunday night so ill do them again on Sunday just to compare but i feel smaller if that makes sense lol

    Now the big challenge with the weekend is approaching and all the temptations

    I’m the same!! I have trouble getting to sleep and then when I wake up I feel as though I haven’t slept... but I’m not tired... if that makes sense.

    Yeah I’ve had not too bad of a dry mouth I’m just trying to keep my water intake up seen as I’m not eating a lot!

    I agree with you, I felt like that too I could feel like I was losing even a little.

    I hope the weekend is kind to you haha try not to have any slip ups and if you do don’t beat yourself up.

    Update me on Monday of how this weekend goes for you :)

    Hi Bianca. I started the day after you so now day 3.im also taking 30 mg.
    Quite dry mouth and not much sleep. I’m not tired though. My appetite has definitely reduced and I’m drinking lots of water. I’m not going to weigh myself until I’ve been taking the tablets for one week.

    Basically the same as me, keep me posted please :) I am also weighing myself next week on Tuesday then that will be a week for me and I’ll continue to do it weekly :)

    i was going to say drink plenty of water but it looks like you are all over that hehe

    if anyone has any concerns or questions about your journey please feel free to ask,
    i'm always happy to help where i can,
    and our administrator April is fantastic too, with advice or whatever you need..

    remember to be positive, stay strong and always think happy thoughts!
    this is important when taking duromine,
    i learned a long time ago that it is a piece of magic,
    it can read your state of mind and will react to your emotions..

    keep up the great work, weight loss is a fight as we all know.

    Hi Dre, I'm also fresh off the boat, it's Day4 of 40mg for me, and I'm a little disappointed.. My appetite is still present. After 4 hours, I start feeling hungry again. I am unemployed, so splurging $339AU is a lot of money for me, but I am desperate to shift 10-15kgs... I also take other medications, could this be a reason why the effects of D seem hindered..? I'm desperate to find out whether my experience so far of D is "normal", or in fact it is a medication I'm taking also, that's the reason ..
    Please HELP ME.

    Hi all,

    Hope everyone had a very good weekend :)
    I’m staying the same as I was last week, not feeling hungry, drinking lots of water ect...

    I did have pizza the other night for dinner but after 2 pieces I was full!

    I’m just wondering if an admin will be able to give me some guidance as to how much we are meant to be eating while on duromine to be able to lose weight as I don’t think I’m eating enough ... I weighed myself yesterday and had lost 2kgs in that first week although I had lost a lot of cms off my measurements....

    Please help me so I know how often I should eat and what I should be eating.
    At the moment I’m having a can of tuna with either 2 cruskits or brown rice for lunch and then a normal dinner just smaller portion

    Thanks Bianca. Be proud of yourself too. Pretty exciting hey. I haven’t changed my normal eating habits too much. Try to eat all my fruit and veggies , protein and dairy but not too many carbs. Three small meals a day. Plenty of walking.

    I’m fairly proud Thankyou.2kgs in a week is a good loss!
    I changed mine a lot and I don’t think I was eating enough so this week I’ve been eating more... I was only eating a can of tuna for lunch and then just a normal dinner but smaller... no brekky.

    So I’ve started having a Greek yoghurt for breakfast. Then tuna and brown rice for lunch and then a normal dinner but smaller portion.

    I just need to avoid carbs, been drinking plenty of water Aswell and walking to and from the train station in the morning and on my way home from work.

    How much have you lost all together now? and are you doing any exercise at all?

    I always like to find out what others are doing and see if it is something I can incorporate :)

    I’ve lost just over 5 kg. Lots of cm. I walk about 7/8 km every day. I eat three small meals a day. No snacks. No alcohol.
    I Am giving myself the next three days off the tablets as I’m having trouble sleeping
